[...] This should have happened years ago but as of yesterday it happened sooner than I expected. I set up a play money prediction market on Inkling (the first of two) asking whether Java would be open sourced by the end of this year. The price slowly declined from 60 in May to 20 in late October, then spiked to 70, with a last trade at 81.76 this morning. [...]

Thanks for the spelling correction. You're funny too.

Clearly I would go long. Or short.

Mike,

Your addendum was funny. (Totally out of the ballpark, but funny.)

I would create a real-money prediction market at InTrade, not at Inkling.

What do you suggest? How would frame it? Which way would you speculate?

Soon,

Alex Tabarrok's post, which you link to, is correct 100%.

However, he talks about the (public) French universities. Here in France, they encompass the colleges of laws, economics, medecine, biology, science, and arts.

In France, the business schools, and the engineering colleges, are run out the university system, in a way similar to what you're familiar with in America. Selection, high tuitions, education quality, etc.
